It was a sad day today. :(
Today, mummy and I bid farewell to our beloved Timon. Yes,...exactly 2 weeks ago since I found him. Sigh. This morning, before we went to Alor Setar, we left him where I had found him...well, not EXACTLY where I found him (which was on the main road) but a place FAR away from the main road. At least (I hope), he will be safer and happier now that he's back 'home'. You should have seen him 'run'!
The minute I took him out of the bag and place him in the lush green grass/vegetation - he REALLY made a dash for it. I think he was SO afraid that I'd run after him and grab him or something. I guess he REALLY wasn't happy with us, even though I thought he enjoyed roaming my huge garden. :( I still am wondering what he was living on coz everything we tried feeding him with, didn't seem to be his taste. I bet he's having a feast this very moment.
Here's hoping you're much more happy now that you're home, Timon. Gonna miss you much but I know that this is for the best. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! *sniff sniff*

Good bye & Farewell, Timon!!

‘Huh??? Divorced already?? What happened? Why like that? Aiiyooo…..how now ar? The family must surely feel sad, so upsetting. After this, don’t know who’s going to marry her. *While shaking head and handing out insincerely sympathy. And just waiting to tell Aunty CNN about it so that together they can go forth and 'proclaim' the lastest news in town.* Tsk..tsk..tsk, poor thing.’
Bet you’ve heard this a million and one times before, right? Even if it didn’t concern your family, it might have happened to some friend or acquaintance before. It really is no longer a shock nor a surprise to hear this any more. Why? Simply because it’s happening around almost every corner, every other day. Our courthouse is FILLED with such cases, rows and rows of couples queuing up to end a relationship they once thought could last a lifetime. Couples who tied the knot and once believed that they would sail the seven seas of a lifetime together, brave every storm that comes their way and celebrate in the triumph, but then….what happened? . Anything could have caused this major decision : things just weren’t working out (despite trying to reconcile), it wasn’t meant to be (and only NOW we realize it) or even the interference of a third party (s/he understands me more than you do, you don’t spend enough time with me, you don’t know me..bla, bla, bla). And after the drama and commotion, the couple heads for a divorce. Then what? Change of status….EGAD!! . She’s a divorcee – BIG DEAL!!! You know, I’m really sick and tired of hearing what the society thinks of divorcees, in general. Really, what’s the big deal? Being a divorcee is nothing more than a status. It doesn’t make you any less human, it doesn’t make you lose your self worth, you are still who you are and if at all it means something, it means that you’ve learnt a valuable lesson, it makes you a stronger person, makes you realize where you went wrong and NEVER make the same mistake again. Why have I brought this up? Well, because it simply irks me when I think what and how OUR society thinks and behaves when the word ‘divorcee’ is mentioned. . I know of this single guy, we were chit chatting one day and he was telling me how there was this one time he and his friends were sitting around and wasting catching up with times when their conversation steered into the realms of dating women. So happens that there was this one lady who was a divorcee in the company he worked for and the guys were teasing him, asking him to go tackle her coz he was single. But he didn’t want to. So I asked him why not. Can you guess what he answered me? ‘Buat aper? Dah second hand. (Whatever for? Already second hand.)’ and I was like WTF??? And the smug look he had on his face said it all, he was actually proud of his answer. I was shocked!! Totally appalled by his answer AND reaction. Not a single neuron in him showed any sign of regret after what he said to me. I couldn’t believe my ears. Is THIS what most people think divorcees are – second hand? Just because they were once married? Divorcees are still human, for God's sake!! . It’s really funny coz the way I see it, it’s the age old case of if a woman sleeps around, she’s a slut but if a man sleeps around, he’s a stud. I think this ‘concept’ has some how revolutionised itself to fit into the description of a divorcee. If she’s a divorcee, she’s second hand, if he’s a divorcee….hhmm, funny that, no seems to be bothered if HE was a divorcee. It’s always the women who seem to look bad. Where’s the sane justification here?? I really don’t get it. You know what’s the BEST way to get our society talking? Very simple, just throw in a notion of a single man marrying a divorcee – WHOAH!! The story will live on. Why? Because *people* love gossip and making up stories. ‘Why? S/He can’t find a single wo/man is it? Must marry a divorcee ar?’ and the story can live on forever and ever – jokes aside. What I don’t understand is, why is it that we make such a big deal out of it? Why can’t people accept the fact that if a marriage turns sour and a divorce happens, the PEOPLE don’t change, they are STILL the same individual; the only thing that has changed is their marital status. And if they are lucky and agreeable, an annulment can be arranged, all the best for both sides. But otherwise, WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL? Question (only to those with children) : How many of you out there who SERIOUSLY wouldn’t mind letting you kids marry a divorcee? Knowing very well that they can easily marry a single wo/man but they choose otherwise. What would you reaction be? Would you allow it? Would you be OK with it? OR would you kick up a fuss so huge that even God would have to zap you just so you’d calm down? In a worst case scenario (I’ve heard this happening before, so don't think I'm just spitting it out), would you disown your child? What would you do? . I know a few people who are divorcees and I can tell you that they would give ANYTHING in the world to keep this dark secret from society, if possible erase it from their lives simply because they are afraid. So afraid that the society will look down on them and react negatively towards them, talk behind their backs and make them feel like they have lost their self worth. Isn’t it already stressful enough to go through one of the most painful things in life – ending a once harmonious relationship and then society barges its way through and make things worst by adding insult to injury? I’m not saying that everyone in our society is like that, but the ones who are such, are the main cause and reason why people make such a big deal out of it! Such people make divorce sound dirty and shameful, when it’s not at all! I mean, come on…it’s the new millennium. Times have changed and people are more daring to stand up for what they think is right and fight for it. Thus, resulting in ending a marriage which they know cannot be restored. Is it WRONG of them to try and correct the mistaken they made? Doesn’t everyone want a good and happy life? If that is so, then why can’t society just accept the fact that the act of divorce is merely a step one takes in order to (hopefully) move on to a better life? . You know, seriously, life is just TOO short and really....so much more than just marital status.

U noe the one to pop her cherrie etc etc.

And about girls being called sluts versus guys called studs... It IS unfair for girls but how do we start people thinkin differently? I admit that i would praise my "playboy" guy frend but i would look down on a "playgirl".

Slut has been a word for the girls but what word is there for a guy that sleeps around? I cant think of any... Guess thats why also...9/10/2005 09:56:00 PM|W|P|Blogger totoro|W|P|i've spend enormous amounts of time with a couple of divorcees who have children barely reaching 3 or 4 years old, as friends. One of them who was married young to a bum, who had no job and didn't want one. She was in love and thought they could work it out.

Now they are fighting for custody of the child (and she being divorced with no stable income, is losing badly) and she had a really tough time establishing a new career for herself. Without her friends and relatives to support her, it's hard to imagine what would have happened.

For me, I will most definitely get objections all around if I decided to marry a divorcee with children, but if I was serious enough about it, I'd still go ahead.9/12/2005 09:25:00 AM|W|P|Blogger shells|W|P|i can relate to this.

I’ve been wanting to write this for AGES but never really got around it. This thought was actually triggered by a particular post by Centerpide on clubbing which I read some time ago. I thought it would be a good idea to share my experience, views and what I see when I go clubbing. . I won’t deny the fact that THOSE days are gone. ‘THOSE days’ meaning partying from 10pm right up to 4am or even more. I love dancing and loud music – what other reason would I go to a club for?? Yes, at one point in my life – that was my lifestyle, a typical young adult/teen’s lifestyle. No need to pretend as it seems like as if it is something new or shocking to you. We’ve all been down that road once before – not all but most people have. Some didn’t like the idea and quit while others like myself, LOVED it (and still do), and continued to enjoy what little enjoyment and entertainment the clubbing scene could give. I’ve slowed down A LOT these couple of years, most likely due to various reasons from living too far from Penang (Yes, distance is a pain in the arse and no, I’m not THAT desperate that I need to go clubbing EVERYWEEK) to not having the proper company (As it seems like as if all my partying kaki has since disappeared from the face of the earth and my best friend lives in KL) to realizing that clubbing extensively is really a waste of time AND money. . Let me share with you an incident, no – 2 incidences actually. One directly connected with me and another is a typical club scene. College days were the BEST days of my life (Hope Bryan Adams doesn’t sue me for quoting part of his lyrics from ‘Summer of 69’. Heh.). Really. I wouldn’t change it for the world and what I’ve experience then, has served as a VERY VERY good lesson that has lasted till now and I believe for the rest of my life. I have to thank my mum for being open-minded enough and letting me go out and experience LIFE as it is. And THIS is a part and parcel of life. I can actually look back now and say, ‘Yes, I’ve experience it all. I know what it’s like.’ Although the lessons I learnt were the hard way, I think it leaves a stronger and longer impression on me – good thing too, I’m quite a hard nut to break. Heh. . I used to live in a hostel and one night just before I moved out to stay with my relatives, we had a party in the hostel. There was booze and chics – what more could one ask for?? :D We had with us a bottle of Tequila (Gawd, even writing this out and reminiscing this moment is already making me nauseous.) with us although alcohol was not permitted in the hostel, then again at that age, all I thought of was, ‘Hey, rules are meant to be broken!’ – so what the heck!! And so with loud music, booze & non-stop shots of tequila pop, it wasn’t long before I began to see stars. Yup, I was high, I was happy and then not a moment later, I was puking! I couldn’t make it in time to the bathroom so imagine the trail of evidence I left behind, containing what I had for dinner on the floor and on the walls. Don’t ask me how come gravity didn’t do its job coz’ clearly, my almost digested dinner of char koay teow with superbly large and juicy ham (cockles) was not only on the floor, it was REALLY plastered on the wall too. As disgusting and icky as it sounds, it smelt and looked even worst! By the time I had safely made it to the toilet, nothing much was left to throw up, so a good friend help me clean up and tucked me into bed while she and a few more other friends (who were still standing) help clean up OUR mess. I wasn’t the only one who left trails of evidence behind. Another girl, Dora left her trail down the stairs to the toilet down stairs. Heh. What a sight and SMELL!! . While they were cleaning up, I tried to fall asleep but I couldn’t coz I felt as if my bed was spiraling upwards. And not only that, every now and then, I would get this urge to throw up and when I tried to, nothing came out, just bile and water. And since I couldn’t get myself out of bed, I had a plastic bag beside me all the time. What started out as a SUPERB night turned out to be the WORST night of my life!! I will NEVER forget this night for the rest of my life because it has thought me a VERY valuable lesson. Getting drunk is not only harmful to your body but also makes you like a fool not to mention a nuisance to your friends coz being true friends although they will stick by you and help you out, what kind of impression are you giving them of yourself? If you felt that my use of the word ‘nuisance’ seems harsh, would ‘being a pain in the arse’ sound better? I didn’t think so either. I felt bad for my friends who stayed up and stayed back to clean up MY mess. It was from that moment that I promised myself that I would never EVER get drunk again. And I will never drink Tequila Pop again. . Ever realize how some of your ‘friends’ just love forcing you to ‘bottoms up’ every now and then? And you actually do it? Well, I totally dislike and disapprove of it simply because it is VERY unladylike and it’s just a way to make you get drunk faster. The purpose – I don’t know, should there be a reason to do something stupid? I don’t give in to crap like this. You may agree or may not agree with me on this but the fact remains that if you want to have a good time, how the hell are you going to do that if you’re pissed drunk and don’t know what is happening around you? If you wanna have fun, stay sober or if not, just a WEE bit high – that’s fine. I know that if one is TOTALLY sober, it’s not that nice coz you don’t really get to feel that special euphoric feeling but this isn’t an excuse for you to over do it. I have ‘friends’ like that – those who LOVE trying to make me bottoms up ("Lai....liow liwo liow!!!" - sounds familiar?), but I never give in. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why I don’t have many party people around me anymore. *Shrugs* O well…I think I can do without 'friends' like that. Are they even CALLED friends??? . Second incident which REALLY enforced my stand to never get drunk in clubs or anywhere else but my home – my favourite, the toilet club visits. Hmmm…..I don’t even know WHERE to start. My advice to all the ladies out there - if you want to use a clean toilet, please do so before 1am. It is NOT advisable to go AFTER. Meaning to say that you need to watch your liquid intake and keep it to a minimum or else you wouldn’t be left with a choice. Why do I say this? Picture this : A hot, sexy mama walks by and all heads turn, both guys and girls. Guys are ogling and salivating simultaneously and the girls are bitching about it – typical scenario. The night goes on fine, lovely night out – loud music, drinking..having fun and then it’s time to go home. You hop over to the ladies one last time (which is by the way a BIG mistake) before that long drive back to Kulim (This is really ME talking here.) and WHAT do you SEE? Almost all the stalls are taken but the doors are all open! How come?!?!?! (You'll soon see why - it's always like this.) The empty ones are totally ‘contaminated’. So you keep walking and hoping to find a ‘clean’ one and as you peek into a slightly opened door to check, you see this SAME hot, sexy mama bent over the toilet bowl with half her head/hair IN the bowl and the other half of her hair is plastered against her face and messed with puke! OMG…what a horrid sight!! She seemed lifeless – is she dead??? Suddenly she sits up right, spasms attack and she tries to throw up – nothing happens so she slums downs again. I didn’t need to see more and I didn't want to either. I just shook my head and walked away. What a waste of good liquor…..and money. While waiting for the gang to get back from their own toilet ‘treats’, I see the same ‘hot, sexy mama’ being carried out over the shoulder like a sack of potatoes – what an exit!!! I was amazed she actually managed to get up on her feet after what I was…sigh. See what I mean by being a nuisance to others and looking like a fool? Do you actually think it’s NICE? It’s not nice getting drunk. And it’s DEFINITELY not attractive – all that glamour and grace as she entered the club got washed away just coz she was couldn’t get a grip of her self. Getting drunk doesn’t mean you had a good time – it just means that you have no self control. . You know what I like best about clubs these days, I just love to sit back and watch the people. Why? Because it’s really nice to see people have fun and every now and then when my favourite song starts to play, I dance along, get a little high but still sober enough for me to drive back to Kulim and pass the breath-analyzer. And as disgusting and horrid as it sounds, it really zaps me back to reality, seeing people make fools of themselves coz it never fails to knock more sense into me to ALWAYS be in control of my actions and alcohol consumption. . Although, I mentioned a lot of what I see when I see girls drunk, I don’t think I need to explain what happens when guys get drunk. In just 5 sentences :

  • They get hyper-sensitive about everything and anything
  • They get violent
  • They get loud
  • They get MORE demanding than usual
  • And make bigger fools of themselves
Still wanna bottoms up?

Actually, the trick is just having enuf for a slight high and loss of inhibition (the key word is slight ok?) but not too much till you have to throw up like that. But lucky me, can hold a drink during the clubbing days. I've only just thrown up once.... in the safety of my own home... & in my own clean toilet bowl. Hahaha. Actually, I quite like beer breath. U noe wat Yvy, I've been put off drinking for the moment. Reason being is that I (might) have lost a friend just because he was drunk. This happened on Merdeka eve and he got drunk, wanted to fight with another fren (friends for 13 yrs) and when I tried to stop him he wanted to fight with me. When another fren stopped him, he picked a fight with that fren. Now... I don't know what to do. I'm jus sad that alcohol can make u turn into an sad idiot. Is it really worth it to get drunk and lose 3 of ur "brothers" (we call each other brothers)? I wasnt drunk cos i did not drink but the fren that started the fight was soooo fucking pissed drunk.

Part 2 (Continuation from here.) . I never realised that my getaway was so exciting that my *ahem* READERS so tak sabaq-sabaq (impatient) to read it. Feels good. Heh. Ok, ok, enough of me blowing my own trumpet. On with the STORY.... . Right after the scrumptious tea time with cokodok & 3-in-1 teh tarik (By the way, pre-mixed packets like these never taste good and I seriously do not recommend it unless you are a teh tarik freak like myself and anything goes when I'm desperate! So far the 'best' I've had from these 3-in-1 thingys for teh tarik is from Goldroast - sorry, no picture. If got at home, I'll post it up later.), we started to get ready for our my big night out in busy KL city, the city that never sleeps. *Sounds familiar, did I just steal some Tv program line???* Being typical girls, we took our time in dressing up and made ourselves look good enough to eat for this Saturday night, kononla kena jangkit Saturday night fever. By the time we reached KL Sentral, Mr. Rock (Sha's friend and my new friend, who doesn't want to be named and says that the reason he isn't blogging is coz he's afraid of kena sued because of using peoples real names and pictures. He has a point so now, I oso scaredkena sue and have decided to give him a pseudonym. Hope you like it, Ra, eerrhmm...I mean, Mr. Rock. ~Grin~) was already there waiting to fetch us to dinner. I bet he was pissed off coz he was waiting for so long, but being a GENTLEMAN, he didn't quite show it. Not our fault the commuter was late!!! I guess Shan was right after all. Sigh. . We had dinner at Kuchai Lama Food Court. Wah, the variety of food there can make any glutton go crazy and cause me to commit one of the 7 deadly sins - gluttony!! But I couldn’t afford to stuff my face because #1. Didn’t want to scare Mr Rock on our first meeting, #2. Cannot afford to have perut buncit (bloated tummy) coz I was going clubbing ma!!! If not my saham (shares) will jatuh (plunge). Do I need more reasons??? So, we *only* had ebiko (my favourite), some fried oysters, some rectangular looking siput fried in superb spicy sauce, loh bak, char koay teow (Sha’s) & some glass noodles thingy (Mr. Rock’s). See, not much, right? I didn’t think so. :D After that hearty but not too fulfilling meal, we headed off to Bangsar Avenue (BA) where Sha’s sister, JJ works. . JJ scared the bejeebers out of me and Sha, and not to mention Mr. Rock too when we mentioned it to him, when she called us while we were on the commuter and told us how she had submitted our names for a friendly pool competition at BA!! I was like, WHAT??!?!?!? The last time I ever held a cue was more than 4 years ago and even then I sucked, what makes me worthy to pick up and start scoring the balls??? I totally freaked out but Sha manages to save us coz she was wearing a skirt. Now, now – don’t ask me how wearing a skirt got us out of this near-catastrophe, but it did and that is all that matters to me. When we arrived, the game was well on its way and we were just hanging around and watching the guys play. Being ‘single’, I of course did a thorough scan and swept the floor and somethingsomeone caught my eye. A whole bunch of Punjabi guys were there, well maybe a handful la, say some 3 to 4 of them and they were in the game and this one particular guy caught my eye. I don’t know what it is with me and Punjabi guys but I really like their looks. Anyway, this guy was kinda tall, fair and really nice looking, and although I wasn’t looking for any action, it was a wee bit upsetting to see that his ring finger was well, ‘ringed’. Sigh. O well…I see only, but don’t wanna touch. So don’t worry, love. :D The only thing that really put me off was the fact that they were TOO loud like as if their grandfather owned the place. Very unpleasant behaviour if you ask me. I guess this is what GENERALLY happens when people get too much alchohol going in the system. Sigh. . After they finished their competition, we took over and played a few games. Me being totally karat (rusty), managed to beat Mr. Rock twice – but you’ll have to excuse him, he’s just learning how to play but swears he can wipe us off our feet with bowling. Then again, not only do I stink at pool, bowling is even worst! I’m normally the official longkang (ditch) sweeper and all thanks to my non-existent sense of aiming. Sigh. Sha on the other hand is a HUSTLER – don’t you believe her if she tells you that she’s not good – she’s just being modest! Actually, she can beat MANY guys without even batting an eyelid, VERY dahsyat wan….don’t pray-pray. Then minute JJ got off from work, the REAL party started…take a wild guess as to where we went AFTER that? :D . My guess is that YOU guessed that I went to Beach Club or Planet Hollywood or Modesto’s or Hard Rock or even Silvers right? Well, you all guessed….WRONG!! :D I went to a place where I could let loose the Indian in me. Heh. I went to Chak’s a.k.a Chakrawathy’s!!!! Nope, you didn’t read wrong – you read correct. I think it’s a really nice Indian club with REALLY great music. Of course I don’t understand a single word that is being sung but hey, I normally let the music take over. :D There were some songs which I really liked dancing to like Gundu mangga to'ppekulle nande pole vanthaiye (Loosely translated to In the fat mango dusun, you crept in like a crab), Ore oru to’ppelle, ore oru tenna maram (This translation is said to be too vulgar to mention so I didn’t bother finding out), R.E.M.O and Thee pudikka, thee pudikka muttham kodu da (Give me the kiss of life) - translation and title of song thanks to Sha. *If I got any part of this wrong, PLEASE PLEASE let me know so I can correct it.* My favourite was the mangga song – mangga as in MANGO. I even made up a dance for it!! Hahaha…:P The whole group of us, some 8 of us really kepak to the maximum. (BJ & Visithra, I’m sure you TOTALLY understand me, right??) At one point, I was so tired that I could only kepak with one arm, hence the ‘One Wing’ dance was born. :D Not bad indeed. . The party ended at 3am. By the time we reached home, I was SO tired but VERY VERY happy and thoroughly entertained. I guess when good music and good company meet, you can’t help but have the time of your life. . I left KL on Sunday night at 10.30pm and again, I found myself praying hard that nothing would go wrong and this time, thankfully all went well except that I reached at 4.30am in Kulim and it was freaking scary to be standing all alone in a dark bus stop waiting for mum. Seeing those 2 spot lights on me, for ONCE felt SO good. . I think I should plan another LONGER weekend getaway soon. Then again, something big’s happening on 17/9/2005. So you’ll just have to wait and read all about it THEN. . Ps. Lilian mentioned MY name here!!! MY NAME!! Wuahh...I feel SO very important & famous now. *Sighs blissfully*

Minnal is still best the Indian night club I been so far. The next was Crown Crystal Cafe where Ananda & Ram (of THR) used to perform - chill beer and 80's song sung by Ananda was just perfect after a long hard day.

Looks like you forgot your camera again...a picture worth thousand words (or something like that), you know. Left : The MOST expensive piece of chocolate dipped strawberry I have ever had. I didn't think it was worth it at all! But anything just once, for the sake of EXPERIENCE, an EXPENSIVE experience. Right : What was left of it after 2 minutes. ' Part 1 (Note : There are not many pictures, just a few blurry ones - sorryla, cam jenis biasa saja) '

In the intro to my weekend getaway, I did mention that I had a rather smooth journey to and fro. However, despite what I thought was rather smooth, there were a few noticeable hiccups in the beginning. As most of you know, I live in Kulim BUT I took a bus from Bukit Mertajam (which is just a mere 15 minutes away) thinking that it would not go to Butterworth to pick up more passengers like what it normally does. I thought that the bus would take off straight into the highway, guess I was wrong. The bus pushed off at 11pm instead of 11.30pm as per my ticket and made its way to......KULIM. *score : 1-Bus, 0-Yvy* It was at this precise moment that I knew that I was cursed with arse luck, this was the ULTIMATE proof!! By the time we arrived BACK in Kulim and waited for MORE late passengers, it was after 12 midnight when we actually left FOR KL. *Wonders why some people don't realise that punctuality is VERY important. I hate people who do not know how to be punctual.*
Bus was nice, roads were a bit bumpy but hey, I was happy enough I could stretch my legs, so NO complaints from yours truly. I didn't even need to wear my jacket coz it wasn't THAT cold in bus. All was well UNTIL I heard the cursed beeping ringing of handphones going off. To make matters worst, SOME people think that their voice is very soft and that everyone else in the bus needs to hear his stupid and loud conversation. Use your brains la!!! It's past bloody 12 midnite, who gives a fark about your stupid conversation?!?!?! You can either talk softly (which obviously wasn't even an option to this ass of a living being) or sms lar - cheaper oso. But nooooooo, not only his voice could be heard from a few rows behind me, but soon after, the a bunch of adik-adiks were giggling and chatting away like as if there's no tomorrow!! WHAT THE FARK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE???? Don't they realise that they are on PUBLIC transport and not their grandfather's one?? Didn't their parents teach them to respect other people?? It was just impossible for me to sleep. I had half a mind to stand up and shut them up - but I'm a chicken so I suffered in silence. Geez...I really can't stand such ignorance. Sometimes ignorance can be a pain in the arse. And then, what happened next is literally pouring oil unto a burning fire.....the disgusting and unhygienic (OBVIOUSLY) abang driver who kept aaagggrking and ptui-ing out the window, the whole bloody night. It was so damn disgusting and really, it came up to a point that it was seriously making me sick. I don't know how I did it but I survived it. I have NEVER seen so much spit coming out of ONE man in ONE Kulim-KL bus ride. REALLY! This guy must really have a chronic saliva dribbling problem. YUCK!
' This picture is a bit blur but it's about the guy in the motor. He's selling peanuts and even while waiting for the lights to turn color, he stopped, got off and packed a packet of nuts for the car besides us. Anything to make a buck these days....sigh.
I arrived in Klang at about 5.30am and Sha was already waiting there for me. We went home and rested for awhile. Took a nap and by 10.30am, we were up and ready to go for some brekkie - Klang's famous bak ku teh. Now, as you all know, I have this very bad case of forgetfulness so no picture of the bak ku teh lar. However, I can tell you that it was nice and all but NOTHING can beat Penang's bak ku teh, with all the innards and what nots. YUMMY!!! :D After brekkie, we went home and got ourselves all dolled up and took the KTM commuter to KLCC. ' Fuhyoo! I like jakun only la coz' tak pernah duduk commuter, LRT I know lar coz sudah biasa. I'm not shy to admit it coz it's a fact. Now at least I know the difference. I certainly prefer the commuter coz its got nice seats and the air-condition is so much more powderful than in the LRT. By the time we reached KLCC, it was way past lunch time but we weren't hungry so we bought Chibon's Cheese and O M G - I thought I had gone to heaven and back!! It was heavenly although at a ridiculous price - RM3.60 for that small cinnamon bun coated with cheese. But I didn't care, even at that price, I'll give anything to have another one. *I'm starting to salivate edi!!* '
As we munched on the bun, we checked out some shoes & blouses coz Sha wanted to look for some blouses as well as some accessories. Bear in mind that the MAIN idea of our little visit to KLCC was not to buy stuff but to fulfill ourselves gastronomically. And as soon as the Chessy bun was digested, we made our way to the infamous strawberry dipped chocolate which is said to taste SO sweet and delicious. How could I say no? And yes, Sha had already warned me to keep my jaws shut coz EACH fruit costs a bloody whooping RM2.10. THE MOST expensive piece of chocolate dipped fruit I've ever eaten. If I thought the bun was expensive, this is way beyond my comprehension. SERIOUSLY, I think that it is insane and the people who actually buy this regularly should seriously consider therapy. The sweet part of the fruit was a scam, my strawberry was kinda sour but the chocolate made it taste a bit sweet, so that's cheating in broad daylight. Then they had this packet of minute pretzels dipped in chocolate as well and each packet of 5 pieces cost another bloody whooping RM3.50. Since we were already on the roll, what's another whooping RM3.50, right? Sigh. I really don't know how people can actually down these type of foods and be filled. As for me, I gave in just for the experience but never again. Sigh. The value of money seems to be dropping VERY drastically huh? After the priceless strawberry and pretzel dipped chocolate, I just HAD to have my daily dose of teh tarik kurang manis. Any longer and I would have been strangling someone by then. It was about 2.30 pm.
'The 5 pieces of minute pretzels for RM3.50. Nothing fantastic really.
' Feeling a little pooped from my bus ride, I told Sha that we just ought to go get that hair accessory thingy she wanted and then head home to rest as we had a big night out. So we returned to Chameleon (These outlets are like sprouting like mushroom, nation wide, aren't they?? Can see it almost everywhere!) and bought a couple of things. I bought me a nice and cute pair of silver hair clips. I think they look great on me and I was right! I do look VERY cute in those. No, I tak perasan - just repeating the compliments received. Heh. :D ' The journey home was quite an experience - our beloved LRT rush hour. I know MOST of you are used to this phenomenon, but not I. What KG mentioned in one her post really came to life before my very eyes. People rushing to enter the LRT before the passenger on the inside can disembark and the embarrassing part is that the station needed to hire some guy to keep reminding people to stand back so as to allow people to disembark - so malu-fying! Common sense right, people coming out, let them out first la, then only you have space to stand. And then when the people got off, the ones on the outside starting pushing and shoving - I didn't need to hang on to no bar or rail coz it was as packed as a sardine can and almost everyone was pressed up against each other. It was icky but quite an experience. Some guy got separated from his gf too while trying to force his way into the berth. Luckily he pulled out in time of he would have left his arm as a souvenir as the door slammed shut. *Wonders if the LRT doors have senses like those in a lift?* '
Back home, Sha's mum was busy preparing her cokodok or cucuk pisang to some of you, or in plain simple English - banana fritters, I think. VERY VERY nice!! YUM.....
' Sha's mum made these WONDROUS cokodok pisang. BEST!! Hot & crunchy.
' Stay tuned to Part 2 : The Happening!!

LATEST UPDATE!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~' Timon has been found, ALIVE. Sorry BJ, no CSI-let's-dissect-the-tortoise series today. :) Yes, I finally found him in mum's orchid shade. *Breathes a sign of relief. Phew!!* I guess n305er was right. They like shade and that's where Timon was. Thought I had lost him there. It's said to be bad luck if one looses a tortoise or if it runs away. *O, good luck, come back....come back to me.* Now, I can go to sleep in peace. I did not take him and place him back into the rock garden. He is free to roam the garden and so far still in one piece. So, I think my pups do not think he is a piece of moving bone, although they still bark like mad at his every move. They've got other more active playthings like toads and lizards. YUCK!!
' Timon is LOST!!! WAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!! *sniff sniff*
I don't know what happened but my mum claims that she can't find him anywhere!!! With him being rather small and dark in color, he blends SO well into my rather large garden. I remember letting him loose once before while I was washing his basin and he just went zipping by - then missing in action. I obviously FINALLY found him after a constant lookout for some sort of movement and FINALLY when I saw some movement in the grass, I knew it was him. But also at the same time, didn't want to ASSUME it was him, coz' we've had a few snake incidences at home. *Shudders - lembik badan dok pikirkan scenario ini* Anyway, do not EVER EVER underestimate tortoises. REALLY!! They can move relatively fast and not to mention quietly too. Even my pups haven't found him yet. I'm pretty sure they would have thought him to be a piece of moving bone, but being scaredy (correct spelling or not??) cats, they would have been barking like crazy but wouldn't move an inch closer to the 'enemy'. Should have seen them in action the other day - got me so freaked out that I was shivering coz I was SO afraid.
They were barking SO hard and SO loud at this piece of overturned and folded cardboard that my mum placed outside for them coz they left their blankies (busuk baju and towel) in the garden and it rained so it was soaking AND stinking, that I was VERY sure there was something there. Something that was small enough to crawl or slither into the fold like maybe a snake or something. I was just SO freaked out that I just quickly locked the doors and covered every single entry hole possible like the doors and windows. When mum came home, she was the hero...she took a long piece of wood and started bludgeoning the crap out of that piece of cardboard. Turned out NOTHING was in there and while she was going at it, the stupid nitwits of mine were simultaneously barking. So, you can imagine how REAL it was!! *Slaps head* Aiyooo...the crap these monkeys put me through...GAWD!!! Like REAL only lar!!
Anyway, with Timon missing - although I doubt he is, he MUST be in the garden SOMEWHERE, the rock garden looks so bare. If indeed he really is missing, then me and mum are going to the pet shop to get us another Timon coz mum suddenly got attached to this shelled creature and doesn't really want to waste her efforts of the rock garden. I think I'll get one for her, for her birthday. :D Yup, I think I will....
Wish me luck people, as I go on a tortoise hunt later this evening.
Ppssttt......on a TOTALLY irrelevant topic, just another one of those cut & paste things I do every now and then, this just came in the mail. I thought it was done VERY nicely. KISSES - Keeping it short, sweet and especially straight.
The first secret: the power of love.
Love begins with our thoughts. We become what we think. Loving thoughts create loving experiences and loving relationships. Affirmations can change our beliefs and thoughts about ourselves and others. If we want to love someone, we need to consider their needs and desires. Thinking about your ideal partner will help recognize him or her when you meet. '
The second secret: the power of respect.
You cannot love anyone or anything unless you first respect them. The first person you need to respect is yourself. To begin to gain self-respect ask yourself, "What do I respect about myself? " To gain respect for others, even those you may dislike, ask yourself, "What do I respect about them?" '
The third secret: the power of giving.
If you want to receive love, all you have to do is give it! The more love you give, the more you will receive. To love is to give of yourself, freely and unconditionally. Practice random acts of kindness. The secret formula of a happy, lifelong relationship is to always focus on what you can give instead of you can take. '
The fourth secret: the power of friendship.
To find true love you must first find a true friend. To love someone completely you must love them for who they are not what they look like. Friendship is the soil through which love's seeds grow. If you want to bring love into a relationship, you must first bring friendship. '
The fifth secret: the power of touch.
Touch is one of the most powerful expressions of love, breaking down barriers and bonding relationships. Touch changes our physical and emotional states and makes us more receptive to love. '
The sixth secret: the power of letting go.
If you love something, let it be free. Even in a loving relationship, people need their space. If we want to learn to love, we must first learn to forgive and let go of past hurts and grievances. Love means letting go of our fears, prejudices, egos and conditions. '
The seventh secret: the power of communication.
To love someone is to communicate with them. Let the people you love know; that you love and appreciate them. Never be afraid to say, "I love you." Never let an opportunity pass to praise and acknowledge someone. Always leave someone you love with a loving word ... it could be the last time you see them.
' The eighth secret: the power of commitment.
If you want to have love in abundance, you must be committed to it. Commitment is the true test of love. If you want to have loving relationships, you must be committed to loving relationships. When you are committed to someone or something, quitting is never an option. Commitment distinguishes a fragile relationship from a strong, loving one. '
The ninth secret: the power of passion.
Passion ignites love and keeps it alive. Lasting passion does not come through physical attraction alone. It comes from deep commitment, enthusiasm, interest and excitement. The essence of love and happiness are the same, all we need to do is to live each day with passion. '
The tenth secret: the power of trust. *For me, the MOST important of them all.
You cannot love someone completely unless you trust them completely. Act as if your relationship with the person you love will never end. Trust is essential in all loving relationships. Trust yourself, trust others and trust the world. It is the foundation for LOVE.

All the best!9/05/2005 04:48:00 PM|W|P|Anonymous n305er|W|P|I would suggest you move the rock garden onto a grass area and at least 1 or 2 potted plants covering/shading a small part of that garden so Timon can actually enjoy it.

Tortises are cold blooded, cement and rocks are hot during the afternoons. They love to hide around and bite off leaves.

If my friend (the one with a Koi pond and 2 tortise) comes back to penang, I'll try to ask him for an interview with him... And his tortises...

Wow, what a weekend!! Damn happening I tells ya....but at the moment, I really tak larat (no energy) to blog about the FUN-TASTIC weekend I had. Fuhyoo....have so much to say, tell, share AND show! :) For now, let me just catch up with all that you guys have written while I was gone.
You'll just have to be patient if you want to check out my short weekend getaway with some tantalising snapshots. Heh. (But don't get TOO excited about that coz my camera is not some dahsyat one, k?) I think I'm turning into another Lilian Chan, see anything - thiak! Go makan - thiak! See something funny - thiak! Heh....good habit but have to be careful if not can see one selipar (slipper) flying my way....then sure gone case di. :D
But since I'm on the roll AT THE MO. I'll just say that for the first time, in a VERY long time. I actually had a pleasant and fault-free bus ride, to and fro. *PHEW!* I was praying my knickers off the minute I got on the bus - SERIOUSLY!! I'm THAT scared shit of bus rides now. But SO glad to note that alls well, ends well. :) Got also educated along the way. *Giggle giggle*
Be excited, be hyped up and ready to read my weekend getaway post - soon, k? :D Till then, I'll have to try to keep myself awake and aware. If not, I'll be falling asleep on my keyboard with dribling drool that's enough to electrocute me n then THAT would cause me to blog you another post. Not really a good reason, right? :)

I know, I know....it's kinda small, who ask you NOT to have bionic eyes?? No choice, have to click to get a largr view. My friend, Amara lives by this, mind you. So no laughing OR poking.

How inspiring....Don't you think? ::GRIN::

Well, I'm off for a SHORT holiday. I'm going to visit a VERY close friend of mine. So, I won't be posting over the weekend (not that I do anyway) and neither will I be replying any of your comments. No, I won't be silently reading your blog OR even be NEAR a computer although I know there are tons of CCs around. I'm taking this chance to 'purify' myself of all traces of anything that's got to do with blogging and see if I can survive it or not. Coz' it's gonna be damn tough when I finally go for my LONG vacation in October. Sigh.

I will take into account the number of comments I get while I'm gone as a sign of how much you guys miss me. Heh. No la...just joking. But it would DEFINITELY make me feel good. Heh. I'm such a attention seeker, aren't I? Yes, I am....:D Ciao people!

Due to MANY (actually 2 only lar) constant (they asked once but since two bloggers asked, consider many lar - more than one mah!) request to put up a picture of my beautiful Beetle, I decided to korek (dig) my cupboard and FINALLY, I found a VERY nice picture of it. My sis took a picture of Herbie (Sorryla, have to curi nama coz' we never really named him before) posing majestically in her college. Heh. ' I am not car person so I know nuts about cars. What I know about this car is that we've had this ever since before I was born. I'm thinking my dad bought this 1.2 pretty baby between 1972 and 1975, not sure which date but it's DEFINITELY older than me. At that time, this car cost him some RM12,000.00 and it was brand new. So up till now, you can say that this car is STILL first hand. It has been white ALL the time since the day it was purchased. We had gotten the engine overhalued in 1999 if I am not mistaken and had recently repainted it in 2002. Now, it's got that REALLY shiny cool look about it. I think this is called Pearly White. I used to drive him when I was living in Johor but now, since sis is studying in Uni, she's taken Herbie with her. ' Herbie hardly causes any problems and is in perfect condition with only minor hiccups every now and then. Even with those hiccups, he can still turn heads everytime we drive through town. My uncle also owns a Beetle but his Beetle has seen SO many color that I bet it would put all the paint companies to shame!! My uncle repaints his car as often as he changes his underwear. (Ok, that was me exaggerating to the max but I'm sure you get my point.) Anyway, whenver Herbie's not well, Uncle comes to the rescue. He's also VERY particular about Herbie being clean and what not, so that means that Sis has to continously keep Herbie clean or Uncle (who happens to be her Godpa too) will be screaming at her. Haha!! Lucky it's not me, coz I just HATE washing cars. ' And now, presenting our beautiful baby, Herbie....... '

Ps. Some bad news though. Sigh. My sis recently informed us someone scratched Herbie. So, now he has a deep gash. Waaaaaa!!!!! He hasn't been fixed up yet. Soon I hope. Before it starts to rust. Sigh.

FINALLY!! My mum's finished her masterpiece of a rock garden for Timon. He no longer has to stare at the blue plastic wall anymore. YAY!!! Unfortunately, my dogs are not taking too well to the newbie. They're like frantic and barking like crazy EACH time Timon moves a muscle. No need to worry about Timon getting mauled or hurt by them (as I read that dogs tend to do that when they think that a tortoise is merely a piece of moving bone. Yioh!!) coz' there is a wiremesh around Timon's new playground and that ought to keep them apart for now. ' ' Timon's been with us for almost a week now. Come this Saturday, it would be EXACTLY 1 week. However, I don't think he is HAPPIEST living with us. He hasn't eaten in a few days, which also means he hasn't crapped either. Now, although that is pretty good news for me coz' trust me, his crap stinks like shit! (Pun intended) And I have been clearning his basin a few times, so I know what I have to deal with BUT on the other hand, I know this is NOT natural. He HAS to eat and he HAS to crap but he ain't doing neither. And is kind of upsetting. I've Googled up tortoise care and I've read that it's not a good idea to keep tortoises which you've found on the road (what a coincidence!) because obviously they are wild and not bred in captive, thus their needs are very much different and it would be tough trying to accomodate both it's habitat and food. So, that got me thinking that maybe I should just return Timon to where I found him. No...not by the roadside but somewhere nearby and pray that he'll be alright. '
I feel kind of sad to release him since I've suddenly found myself attached to him but I have to think what's best for him. So I've decided to give him another week. If by the end of next week, he STILL ain't eating OR crapping, it would be the best time to return him to the woods. And we'll just get another 'tame' tortoise from the petshop. For now, I can only keep my fingers crossed and hope that this new environment will suit him better. I just wish my 2 stupid brainless nitwits would stop barking at him coz' not only is it frightening for Timon, it's damn bloody irritating to me!! *Gggrrrrrrrrr....*

Were you ever a TV addict when you were a kid? I know I was. For as long as I can remember, I had always loved watching TV until the internet was introduced to me when I entered college. Yup....ever since I was a kid, I loved watching TV. Although my dad didn't have to drag me away from the TV as we kind of had a time-table for both homework and study, I'd always curi (steal) some time off homework and invest those precious moments watching TV. I remember this one time, just before my PMR, when I was still living in Johor. My mum used to buy me these Leder Tabs 500gm Zinc pills which is SUPPOSE to help keep my mind awake and fresh so that I could study better and absorb my lessons better in school. Yeah, yeah....I bet your mum did that too! What is it with mum that makes them LOVE stuffing their kids with all sorts of pills under the sun?? It is not nice having to swallow some 5 odd pills daily, makes you feel like a sick person. Then again, it's normally for the good of the child, so action is forgiven and the 'abuse' is accepted.
Oooppps, a little off track there....anyway, since I was taking those pills, I can tell you - they kept me fresh and wide awake at night alright! I'd study till it was about midnight and everyone's gone to bed and then sneak out to the hall and watch MTV. HAHAHAHA!! Back in Johor, we used to get Singapore Channels so it was really a big treat for me. It's so funny now that I think back about it and how my mum ALWAYS bring this up whenever she and my aunts get together and have their dose of 'health' talks every now and then. She never fails to tell them how those 'wonderful' zinc pills kept me up at night, long enough for me to stay up and watch TV!! Lol.....I love that 'sweet old lady' - by the way, this title was self appointed since many people claim that she is strict and looks worst. But I can assure you that she's the sweetest, most cutest little old lady in town! O, she also happens to be my other best friend too. :D '
Today, I can proudly stand tall and admit that I'm not a TV addict anymore - although I hardly ever miss CSI. The one and only TV program that I am utterly and totally devoted to. Although...there's this new series called Wonder Falls. It is quite interesting and wacky AND sometimes stupid. But hey, whatever that makes me happy, right? Ppsstt.....Tyron Leitso is SO the YUMMY!!! *Looks around for bucket because already begins to salivated profusely*---> So scrumptious larr.....sigh.
' So looking back, I realised that I've watched QUITE a number of series and cartoons and just for the sake of fun, I thought it would be great to take a trip back into the past and list down ALL the shows that I've watched. When I was going through some of these shows online, (Yes, this compilation actually took QUITE some time to compile.), it was really amazing as each program that I've watched brought a smile to my face coz' it reminded me of THAT particular time in my life. It was like walking down memory lane using TV shows.....bizarre but damn cool! The only setback was it made me look like a love-struck siao cha boh (crazy love-struck girl), smiling to herself in the office. *Note : Not ALL of this was done in the office ok? I'm not being paid to do nothing here, so don't get the wrong idea. ; ) This clause is just in case my boss stumbles upon this site lar, who knows? Didn't you know I have arse luck???*
Anyway, this compilation has been categorized into several sections and I've also written a bit about what I remembered each of these programs were about. I can't say that I remember EVERY single one of them but hey, a word or two ought to jostle your memory, coz' it sure did mine! :D

The original CSI show was Quincy, M.E. way back then. Scarecrow & Mrs. King was also quite good, and the first show I saw with a cool black dude was Spencer For Hire.

Fat Albert was the best cartoon show ever, whilst Sha Na Na and In Living Colour (with the Wayans brothers) were the most fun.

Both Kempen Belog Dalam BM and Merdeka Blogger was indeed a success and this is all thanks to the bloggers who joined in and united ourselves to contribute and do our part. Syabas to each and everyone of our and to the organisers as well. Job well done! ' Today, as usual...I was going through a couple of blogs and I decided to check this one particular blog because one of the things we have in common is that we BOTH own a Volks Wagon (Kereta katak to some of you and also known as the Beetle) and both happen to be white. :D Awesome!!! And suprisingly, his post here caught me by suprise! I am kind of shocked.
